District Neighbors Lost to Violence June 7 – 14, 2017

The District of Columbia lost the following individuals due to violence in the week of June 7-14, 2017:

  • June 7 — 1100 block of Queen Street, NE (assault, smoke)
    Incident 1/26/17; cause of death, homicide declared 6/7.
    66-year-old Awlachew Ayele, of Northeast.
  • June 9 — 800 block Chesapeake Street, SE (stabbing)
    29 year-old Dominic Brooks, of Southeast
  • June 12 — 500 block of Parkland Place, SE (shooting)
    33-year-old Jason Antonio Dale, of Southeast.
  • June 14 — 5800 block of Fields Place, NE (shooting)
    28-year-old Julius Leroy Foreman, of Northeast, DC.

We are still in the 30-day mourning period for the following individuals lost to violence in the District:

    41-year-old Isabelle Duval of Winchester, VA.
  • May 20 — 100 block of Joliet Street, SW (stabbing)
    49-year-old Derrick Roach, of Southwest.
  • May 22 — 3900 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, SE (shooting)
    35-year-old Antonio Bassett, of Southeast
  • May 22 — 1100 block of K Street, SE (stabbing)
    31-year-old Whitney Jones, of Riverdale, MD.
  • May 27 — 100 block of Q Street, NW (shooting)
    32 year-old Algernon Harvey Jones, of Southeast
  • May 28 — 5200 block of Dix Street, NE (shooting)
    24-year-old Wayne Joaquin, of Southeast
  • May 30 — 700 block of 18th Street, NE (shooting)
    25-year-old DeAndre Riley, of Southeast
