District Neighbors Lost to Violence July 13 – July 19, 2017

As of 10 p.m. on July 19, the District of Columbia experienced no homicides or police-involved killings in the preceding week.

We are still in the 30-day mourning period for the following individuals lost to violence in the District:

    23 year-old Leonte Cox, of Southeast
  • June 26 — 1300 block of Southern Avenue, SE (shooting)
    Victim shot April 9; succumbed May 17; homicide declared 6/26/17
    24-year-old Zaan Scott, of Southeast
  • June 28 — 1300 block of Trinidad Avenue, NE (trauma)
    29-year-old Michael Vest, of Northeast
  • June 29 — 800 block of 46th Street, NE (shooting)
    33-year-old Jeffery Lawrence King, of Woodbridge, VA
  • July 5 — Unit block of Galveston Street, SW (shooting)
    46-year-old George Denny Jr., of Southwest
  • July 5 — 300 block of 50th Street, NE (shooting)
    43 year-old Malachi Yisrael of Southeast
  • July 8 — 3500 block of Water Street, NW (shooting)
    19 year-old Kennedy Javier Amaya-Olivares, of Severn, Maryland
