Toddler lost to gun violence

MPD offered preliminary reports Wednesday night of a shooting that killed a toddler, but there has been no official pronouncement of this death as a homicide. Here is a quotation from the Facebook page of Ward 8 Councilmember Trayon White:

Keep these families in your prayers.🙏🏿🙏🏿This is so depressing. 💔💔A 1-year-old boy was shot and killed late Wednesday evening in Southeast D.C. near the Prince George’s County, Maryland border, according to the Metropolitan Police Department (D.C. Police). The shooting was in the are of 57th Street and Southern Avenue, Southeast, around 10 p.m.
